Lunch at a restaurant across the street from the ferry terminal. Sorry about the slightly fuzzy focus. This is the largest bento box I've ever seen: the far row is actually tilted up slightly to help fit on the table. Starting from the top left and working clockwise: a long, capellini-like seaweed salad; honeydew melon; tiny marinated squid; a ton katsu fillet (breaded pork cutlet) with lettuce salad and a small dollop of white potato salad; a bowl of Japanese curry sauce; miso soup (covered); rice; and the inevitable crunchy bits of pickle. It was all fantastic ... though, if I had to pick, I have to say that the ton katsu that I had in Tokyo was better. But the Tokyo ton katsu was unique, so it's unfair to compare to this more traditional cutlet.
