This is an uncommon sight: part of the street gutter/storm sewer is uncovered. Everywhere else I've gone, the rainwater gutter has been covered by lids of concrete. Several are missing here. The system makes a lot of sense: the transition from road to not-road is smooth, but you can get access to the gutter if you need to. And it's yet another product for the Japanese concrete industry to make! (10/26) |
