I found this poster at the tour boat stop near our lunch hotel/restaurant. I thought it was more sumo wrestling standings. Nomi-san thought it was a good guess, but it's actually a dialect translation chart. We're far enough away from Tokyo to have a pretty distinct regional dialect. This chart contains various words and phrases together with the phonetic spelling in the Shimane dialect. A table like this could come in handy when travelling in the American deep south or in rural New England....
